At Mosaic, we help people with disability aged 18 years or over to secure the home, housemates and 24/7 support they need to live actively, independently and safely in the community.
We’ve been providing fully supported accommodation for people living with disability since 1992. Today, we have a range of Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes across Perth, from one-bedroom independent living units to spacious seven-bedroom homes. We have also partnered with registered Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) providers to offer a range of SDA housing options.
We're not only concerned with finding you somewhere to live. We want to help you live your best life, with the support you need for greater independence.
Mosaic helps you find the right home in the right location. With the right housemates, the right support options, and easy access to everything you need.
If one of our existing NDIS supported independent living (SIL) or partner SDA homes doesn’t suit you now or in the future, we’ll work with you to create a solution suitable for your unique needs.
We have an extensive range of supported disability accommodation options across Perth. Take a look at our map to see where they are located – the green markers represent current vacancies. Or contact our team to enquire about SIL and SDA vacancies.
Managed by our experienced Home and Community Leaders and other team leads, our support teams use our proven, person-centred approach and our Positive Behaviour Support framework.
This ensures we meet your unique needs and preferences for Supported Independent Living (and other support services), while openly communicating and consulting with you and your family on an ongoing basis. For families looking to transition a loved one to supported independent living options, Mosaic's friendly team is committed to open and caring communication.
Having an accessible home fit for your unique requirements is just the start. Our supportive environment promotes independence along with better access to community participation and social activities.
Our team will work with you to build essential life skills and support your personal goals, so you can live as independently as possible in our supported independent living accommodation. This includes assisting with the following support options:
For information on our range of SIL support options and services to help you live actively, independently and safely in the community, why not take a look at our Disability Services page.
Since moving into a Mosaic home, Simone has just come out of her shell and now really shines. She has learnt new skills, engages with all her house mates and the staff. I honestly think she feels part of the team there, like she really belongs.

I love how my family member is included in all activities both inside and outside of the home, and their best interests are always at the fore.

The Mosaic staff supported me daily to help me learn and do better, and slowly build my confidence and trust in people. I started to do a lot of things on my own, like looking after my unit better, taking good care of my cat Kit, learning how to budget, and buy groceries weekly that would be healthy and easy for me to prepare.

Before you move into one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, we make sure the home and any potential housemates are the right fit for you… and them.
The first step is to find out about you: Your support needs, what you enjoy doing, and things like your age and gender. This helps us work out who you may like to live with.
We then show you some potential homes that might suit you. If you are interested, we will then organise times for you to meet the housemates, often over afternoon tea or a meal. You’re in control throughout this process.
If you’re interested in supported independent living services with Mosaic, the first step is to fill out our referral form. We welcome referrals from Support Coordinators, disability support professionals, agencies, guardians, family members and those who live with disability. Mosaic’s referral form is straightforward to fill in, and you can reach out to our friendly team for any questions along the way.
Once we receive your referral form:
You will also meet the current housemates and then can take as much time as you need to consider before you confirm your decision. The final steps are to sign a service agreement and move into your new home.
To live in one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, you need to have National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding or equivalent for 24/7 support.
Funding for Supported Independent Living covers the cost of support staff only. A regular fixed Board and Lodgings payment covers your food, rent, communal furniture, and house maintenance. Other living expenses such as your own furniture, medications, and personal items such as clothing are up to you.
Yes! Mosaic can provide daytime and/or overnight support to help you with your needs, whether that is in your own home, a shared living space, an independent living unit (ILU), specialist disability accommodation (SDA), short-term accommodation (STA) or through a Mosaic SIL home.
To be eligible for SIL with Mosaic, you must be an NDIS participant with eligible funding. Specifically, you will need to be over 18 years old and have NDIS SIL funding or other equivalent funding.
You can bring your own furniture for your bedroom if you like. Your room is your own space, which means you can furnish it and decorate it however you want. The rest of the Mosaic home is furnished.
No. If you’re not ready to move in full-time straight away, Mosaic offers short-term accommodation (STA) options. Using STA for a while can be helpful to get you to adjusted to Supported Independent Living, while you transition full-time into your new home.
Yes. You can keep using any existing support services such as Therapy or Community Access that you have with other providers. You can also choose to engage with Mosaic services should you wish. We suggest you talk this over with your Support Coordinator, family or guardian.
Funding from the NDIS for Supported Independent Living covers the cost of your support staff to assist you with daily tasks and activities.
NDIS plan funding for SDA covers your accommodation (the physical home) if you have specialist housing needs. SDA is typically for people with complex disabilities. However, one does not cancel out the other – you can still receive SIL support while living in an SDA home, as they fund different areas.
