Join us for Guided Nature Bushwalks in Perth

Mosaic offers accessible guided nature bushwalking experiences (at no cost) for people with disability in the Perth metro area. Our focus is to enhance physical and mental wellbeing, develop outdoor skills, foster social engagement, and share Aboriginal cultural insights about the trails we walk.

You will enjoy easy walks, with careful consideration given to safety, fitness levels, and environmental conditions. Join us to explore the great outdoors, improve your health, and connect with like-minded individuals.

If you require a support person to participate, you will need to organise one to attend with you (either informal support or paid support worker via NDIS funding). Our team will discuss any additional accessibility requirements after receiving your registration.

Are you looking to become a Bushwalking Guide? Join this free course!

Mosaic is offering a 1.5-day free workshop designed for people aspiring to be bushwalking guides in tracked environments, who have no prior training or experience.

This training is aligned to the Australian Adventure Activity Standards (AAAS) and Good Practice Guides. You’ll receive tips and insights from training guides with over 20 years of experience.

Who can participate?

  • People with disability
  • People working in the disability sector (i.e., Support Coordinators, Support Workers, etc.)

What does the training cover?

  • Preparation and planning for walks
  • Risk management, emergency planning and response protocols
  • Equipment for day and overnight walks
  • Appropriate food for multi-day treks
  • Group ratios, health and safety
  • Judging the fitness and ability of groups
  • Group leadership skills, conflict resolution and communication
  • Leave No Trace and minimal impact
  • Record keeping

Reference materials, including checklists and cue cards, will be provided.

Dates: Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th August 2025

Time:

  • Day 1: 08.45 am to 04.30 pm (for a 09.00 am start)
  • Day 2: 09.00 am to 12.00 pm
