Mosaic Community Care Inc’ (Mosaic), originally named GACLA (Gosnells & Armadale Community Living Association) was established in 1992 by a group of community members interested in developing improved options for their family members.

In early 2005 Mosaic changed its name to ‘Mosaic Community Care Inc.’ and relocated its head office from Armadale to O’Connor.

During 2009 the Board of Directors developed and approved a new Vision, Values Statement, Philosophy and Strategic Objectives with regard to the current and future services Mosaic provides.

In April 2010 Mosaic created a new logo, whilst still retaining the ‘tiles’, being reflective of the many people Mosaic supports, all of whom are an integral part of Mosaic.

In November 2012 a new residence was named ‘Coral House’ in honour of the late Coral Miller who had received support from Mosaic.

In October 2014 Mosaic completed redevelopment of the Spearwood property (Reserve House) and opened one supported accommodation home and three independent living units.

In early 2015 Mosaic received approval from the Department of Housing for an additional supported accommodation home in Safety Bay including construction of one independent living unit on the same site.

As at 2016 the first person to receive support from GACLA is still with Mosaic.

In August 2016 Mosaic ‘re-branded’ again with a new logo which still incorporates the tile effect, but shown as a globe, signifying all-encompassing care for people with disabilities.

GACLA became ‘Mosaic Family Support Services Inc.’ in 2001. The name Mosaic, chosen by Board Member, now Life Member, Lorraine deLacy, was thought to be more reflective of the many people who make up the whole of Mosaic.

In late 2005 Mosaic purchased its first residential property, located in Baldivis and named it ‘Dawson House’ after the late Peter Dawson who received support from Mosaic.

During 2011 the Board of Directors developed and approved the Strategic Objectives for the organisation for the five years 2012-2016

In early September 2014 Mosaic opened two new homes in Brookdale. The three bedroom homes provide independent living and flexible support programs, providing more choice for the individual.

In October 2014 Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AO, Governor of Western Australia, accepted Patronage for Mosaic Community Care Inc.

In early 2015 we completed an upgrade to the existing Kenwick supported accommodation duplex.

In July 2015 Mosaic opened a third new home on the Brookdale property – a four bedroom group home providing supported accommodation to independent individuals in Mosaic’s care.

During 2016 the Board of Directors developed and approved the Strategic Objectives for the organisation for the five years 2016-2021.
